Terms & Conditions


1.0 Contract

A client’s instruction for work to commence shall be deemed a contractual agreement between the client and Allotment. At that point the start date for the project will be agreed.


2.0 Approval

Instruction for work to commence and payment of the initial design fee indicates that the client accepts these Terms and Conditions.


3.0 Intellectual Copyright

Allotment retains intellectual copyright of any material, including source code and original graphic design and images, until payment of the final invoice has been cleared when Allotment will transfer the intellectual copyright of the website to the client.

3.1 Client responsibility with regard to copyright

The client is responsible for ensuring that any content provided to Allotment does not infringe copyright laws.


4.0 Domain Name Registration & Web Hosting

The cost of domain name registration and web hosting arranged by Allotment is billed as part of the final client invoice.


5.0 Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Allotment offers a basic optimisation service for this purpose, and does not guarantee the success of any SEO and the ranking results.


6.0 Cancellation

Clients may cancel at any point during the website design process but remain liable to pay for work already carried out.


7.0 Website Content

In order to ensure that website design work is started at the scheduled time and is progressed in a timely manner, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that content for inclusion in the website is provided to Allotment at the agreed time.

Allotment cannot be held responsible for any extension beyond the previously agreed completion date of the design project due to the client not providing the required information in a timely manner.

If a client fails to provide the required information within four weeks of the agreed commencement date of the project, Allotment reserves the right to end the design project. Any outstanding balance remaining on the client’s account with Allotment becomes immediately payable.


8.0 Initial Payment

An advance payment is required to be paid by the client to Allotment before design work can commence. This is normally one third of the total cost, though large projects may require more detailed payment arrangements. After design work begins, the advance payment is non-refundable.


9.0 Final Payment

Full publication of the website will take place only after final payment has been received and cleared. If payment is not received or Allotment reserves the right to remove any website content previously published.


10.0 Unpaid Accounts

Allotment will seek payment through legal process.


11.0 Payment Terms

Payment is expected within 30 days of date of invoice. Payment is accepted in UK Pounds Sterling by bank transfer, cheque, bankers draft or cash.
